Sports Day

Here are some of the action packed photos taken during Sports Day. Pupils enjoyed sprinting race, potato and spoon race, welly throw, obstacle race, water race, sack race and a Zumba dance and a three legged parent race!!. Congratulations to the red team who were the overall winners on the day and received the Moyle N.S. sports day rosette.

Healthy Eating Day

The healthy eating day of our ‘Get Fit, Get Healthy Week’ included wraps and pittas for everyone to choose from with a selection of fillings including:

  • Lettuce grow in our organic garden
  • scallions
  • tomatoes
  • sweetcorn
  • cheese
  • ham
  • salami
  • chicken
  • tuna

followed in the afternoon by fruit skewers of grapes, strawberries, pineapple, mango, oranges and marshmallows.

Shore Walk

The weather was in our favour as we headed off on our annual walk to Newtown Shore. The sun was shining from the minute we set off and had everyone in good spirits. 3rd and 4th class along with their class teacher Mrs Keaveney led the troops and set a good pace for everyone to walk along to. When we reached the shore we rested any tired legs and had a bite of lunch. After lunch Junior Infants -2nd Class had a scavenger hunt along the shore to collect shells, seaweed and anything of interest to  make a crown. 3rd-6th class did a pencil drawing of the landscape or found an object of interest along the shore and drew it. The bus came to give the infants a helping hand home and the rest of the school continued to enjoy the glorious sunshine on their walk back to the school. Thanks to all the parents who came along to help with the walk.

Five-a-Side Football

Eight boys and girls from 5th and 6th class took part in a five-a-side football tournament in Convoy on Friday 9th May. They played against a number of teams from different schools and while no medals were won a great days fun was had by all.
